چکیده
Abstract A relatively complete conodont record from Famennian to the Mississippian/Pennsylvanian boundary was investigated in Anarak section, Central Iran. The studied interval belongs Bahram, Shishtu, Ghaleh and Absheni formations. part of section (Bahram Formation) ranges Palmatolepis triangularis Zone into Bispathodus ultimus Zone. Not all zones could be defined due lack indicative species. Furthermore, it seems likely that a hiatus occurs around Devonian/Carboniferous (D/C) (most probably Siphonodella praesulcata ? sulcata –early crenulata zones) based on stratigraphically important conodonts as well sedimentological criteria. representative siphonodellids protognathodids at base Mississippian prevents detailed stratigraphic position D/C boundary. Lower Carboniferous (Mississippian) rocks are characterized by red nodular limestone which is unique comparison with other sections same age Within we define mid-Carboniferous occurrence Declinognathus noduliferus s.l. Conodont biofacies changes (Mississippian genera Gnathodus Lochriea have been replaced Pennsylvanian Idiognathodus ) recognized this well.

A Mississippian miospore assemblage has been recorded from well A in the Persian Gulf in Iranian offshore, for the first time. Fifteen species of spores have been recognized in the Early Carboniferous assemblage of this well which the most important of them are: Spelaeotriletes arenaceus, Aratrisporites saharaensis, Spelaeotriletes balteatus, Spelaeotriletes triangulus and Radiizonates arcuatus...
