Laparoscopic cholecystectomy in a patient with situs inversus totalis: report of a case with surgical tips

Background: Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the mirror-image transposition of organs. To date, approximately 100 cases laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) have been reported in patients with situs inversus. Although surgery was successfully completed all these cases, operation known to be technically challenging Herein, we report case cholelithiasis SIT patient who underwent successful LC. Additionally, discussed surgical tips that could serve as guidelines for clinicians encounter such practice.
