Landscape Planning of Infrastructure through Focus Points’ Clustering Analysis. Case Study: Plastiras Artificial Lake (Greece)

Even though landscape quality is largely a subjective issue, the integration of infrastructure into landscapes has been identified as key element sustainability. In spatial planning context, impacts that are generated by infrastructures commonly quantified through visibility analysis. this study, we develop new method analysis and apply it in case study reservoir (Plastiras dam Greece). The methodology combines common with stochastic tool for visual-impacts evaluation; points generate high visual contrasts considered Focus Points (FPs) their clustering analyzed trying to answer two questions: (1) How does impact aesthetic value landscape? (2) can these FPs be evaluated? Visual calculated utilizing Zones Theoretical Visibility. Based on results, argue if effect groups positive, then optimal sitting should direction faint clustering, whereas negative, directed intense clustering. order optimize infrastructure, could useful analytical environmental assessment or monitoring project’s managing authorities. This demonstrated Plastiras’ reservoir, where positively perceived found an overlooked attribute its perception highly sustainable project.
