Landau–Zener transition with energy-dependent decay rate of the excited state

چکیده
A remarkable feature of the Landau–Zener transition is insensitivity survival probability to decay rate, τ−1, excited state. Namely, for a particle which initially (at t→−∞) in ground state remain at t→∞ same insensitive τ−1 due e.g. coupling continuum (Akulin and Schleich, 1992). This was demonstrated case when density states energy-independent. We study opposite limit step-like function energy. As result this behavior states, rate driven level experiences jump as time certain moment t0. take advantage fact that analytical solution tt0 known. show enters t0 comparable time.

State-to-state rate constants for collision induced energy transfer of electronically excited NH2 with NH3
Collisional energy transfer of NH2 in its electronically excited state à A1 is investigated with time-resolved Fourier transform emission spectroscopy. NH2 is produced by photodissociation of NH3 and relaxed to low rotational levels before excitation into the electronically excited state. Originating from collisions with NH3 , rate constants for total collisional removal and state-to-state rate...
متن کاملDecay rate measurement of the first vibrationally excited state of MgH+ in a cryogenic Paul trap.
We present a method to measure the decay rate of the first excited vibrational state of polar molecular ions that are part of a Coulomb crystal in a cryogenic linear Paul trap. Specifically, we have monitored the decay of the |ν = 1, J = 1)(X) towards the |ν = 0, J = 0)(X) level in MgH+ by saturated laser excitation of the |ν = 0, J = 2)(X)-|ν = 1, J = 1)(X) transition followed by state selecti...
متن کاملExcited-State Decay Paths in Tetraphenylethene Derivatives
The photophysical properties of tetraphenylethene (TPE) compounds may differ widely depending on the substitution pattern, for example, with regard to the fluorescence quantum yield ϕf and the propensity to exhibit aggregation-induced emission (AIE). We report combined electronic structure calculations and nonadiabatic dynamics simulations to study the excited-state decay mechanisms of two TPE ...

متن کاملAssessing Excited State Energy Gaps with Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory on Ru(II) Complexes.
A set of density functionals coming from different rungs on Jacob's ladder is employed to evaluate the electronic excited states of three Ru(II) complexes. While most studies on the performance of density functionals compare the vertical excitation energies, in this work we focus on the energy gaps between the electronic excited states, of the same and different multiplicity. Excited state ener...
