چکیده

Thesis Abstract Background: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major leading cause of pathogenesis liver disease which was treated with IFN-based therapy and recently Sovaldi®. There challenge to explore new drugs. Probiotics are the most common natural therapeutic that can ameliorate dysfunction. Aim: study antiviral antibacterial responses probiotics in patients chronic (HCV). Materials Methods: were IFN/ribavirin, or both IFN capsule containing L. acidophilus Bifidobacterium spp. administered as one per day for month. Blood urine samples collected before after treatment strategies processed quantitative determination HCV PCR assay, identification bacteria by VITEK2 system 16S r RNA gene sequencing, estimation activity, well counts leukocytes CD3+ T cells CD56+ killer cells. Results: Treatment Bifidobacteria enhanced IFN-α ribavirin treatment, shown viral titter assay clarified activity also against bacterial infections HCV. Additionally, it increased numbers CD56+, Conclusions: act supportive supplement antiviral, positive immune response activities

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Nonylphenol (NP) is a well-known environmental hormone recognized as detrimental to the reproductive systems of aquatic animals and humans. The effect of NP on probiotics in the human gastrointestinal tract remains unclear. This study investigated the effect of NP on the growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum. METHODS L. acidophilus and B. bifid...

Survival of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum in ice cream for use as a probiotic food.

Probiotic ice cream was made by fermenting a standard ice cream mix with Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum cultures and then freezing the mix in a batch freezer. Survival of the L. acidophilus and B. bifidum, as well as beta-galactosidase activity, was monitored during 17 wk of frozen storage at -29 degrees C. After freezing of the fermented mix, bacterial counts were 1.5 x ...

Bifidobacterium bifidum Actively Changes the Gene Expression Profile Induced by Lactobacillus acidophilus in Murine Dendritic Cells

Dendritic cells (DC) play a pivotal regulatory role in activation of both the innate as well as the adaptive immune system by responding to environmental microorganisms. We have previously shown that Lactobacillus acidophilus induces a strong production of the pro-inflammatory and Th1 polarizing cytokine IL-12 in DC, whereas bifidobacteria do not induce IL-12 but inhibit the IL-12 production in...
