Lactate dehydrogenase level as a COVID-19 biomarker
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an intracellular enzyme found in cells almost all organ systems, which catalyzes the interconversion of pyruvate and lactate, LDH has been proved to be a prognostic factor with high accuracy diseases involving multiple injuries such as acute heart failure (AHF) severe pancreatitis (AP), potential biomarker patients COVID-19. Patients methods: This study included 217 non hospitalized confirmed COVID-19 infection Alexandria, Egypt, these subjects were randomly selected irrespective age group both genders included, Assay procedure manufactory instructions Reagents Chema Diagnostics Italy, FL reagent based on DGKC recommendations. Results: The percentage relation serum level, present aged from14 years 75 mean was 44.5 ±30.5 who have Covid-19 on real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, female gender more frequent (n=119, 54.8%) than Male (n=98, 45.2%). reveals levels 147 (67.7%), significant for diagnosis non-hospitalized (Outpatients under home observation), p-value 0.024 less 0.05. Conclusion Recommendations: Serum level good Outpatients observation increased by 67.7%, many other studies revealed marker COVD-19 infection.

Serum lactate dehydrogenase as a prognostic biomarker in patients with Ewing’s sarcoma: a meta-analysis
Purpose: The prognostic value of serum Lactate dehydrogenase (sLDH) in Ewing sarcoma (ES) has been studied worldwide during these years and provided un-uniformed conclusions. Methods: Comprehensive literature was selected from PUBMED, EMBASE and WEB OF KNOWLEDGE. Clinical studies which reported analysis of survival data about sLDH in ES were included. Stata 12.0 was used for performing a meta-a...
متن کاملLactate as a Biomarker for Sepsis Prognosis?
Blood lactate concentrations reflect the balance between lactate production and clearance. During glycolysis in resting state, most glucose is converted to pyruvate. Pyruvate is metabolized through the aerobic pathway, to acetyl-CoA by pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) to enter the tricarboxylic acid cycle that is the main source of energy for cellular metabolism. In times of stress, tissue oxygen (...
متن کاملReconsidering lactate as a sepsis risk biomarker
OBJECTIVES There has been renewed interest in lactate as a risk biomarker in sepsis and septic shock. However, the ability of the odds ratio (OR) and change in the area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC-ROC) to assess biomarker added-value has been questioned. DESIGN, SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS A sepsis cohort was identified from the ICU database of an Australian tertiary re...
متن کاملLactate dehydrogenase as a biomarker for silica exposure-induced toxicity in agate workers.
OBJECTIVES Agate workers are chronically exposed to silica dust generated from agate grinding, which makes them susceptible to silicosis. In the absence of diagnosis at an early stage, the workers continue to be exposed to silica dust until the development of silicosis. The present study was undertaken to investigate total lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity in blood samples of silica-exposed ...
متن کاملLactate Dehydrogenase as a Biomarker for Prediction of Refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae Pneumonia in Children.
BACKGROUND Corticosteroids have been used for refractory Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia and have beneficial effects. The aim of this study was to identify the biomarkers for predicting refractory M. pneumoniae pneumonia in a timely fashion to initiate steroid therapy. METHODS This was a prospective cohort study of children with M. pneumoniae pneumonia admitted to the Children's Hospital of F...
