Kuwait's marine biodiversity: Qualitative assessment of indicator habitats and species

The tropical waters of the Northern Arabian Gulf have a long history maritime resource richness. High levels biodiversity result from complex matrix coastal habitats, coral reefs and sea grass beds that characterise region. Insight into ongoing health such habitats broader Kuwait environment can be gauged by status indicator species found within these habitats. Here we review information on occurrence, distribution threats to key marine associated provide an updated assessment state Kuwait's biodiversity. Critical evaluation historic data highlights knowledge gaps needed inform focus future monitoring conservation efforts.
