Knowledge of Farmers towards Adoption of Grape Cultivation for Wine Making in Champhai District, Mizoram

Grape cultivation plays a significant role in India, contributing to its economy, nutrition, and employment opportunities. Specifically, grape for wine production holds great importance, both economically terms of farmers' attitudes. This study was conducted Champhai town, Mizoram, explore the social psychological factors that influence acceptance large-scale making. Descriptive research design followed present study. The findings this showed majority respondents belonged middle age group (36-55), had basic level education, predominantly from nuclear families farming their primary occupation. found most moderate levels scientific orientation, mass media exposure, progressiveness, extension contacts. In knowledge, 15% demonstrated high level, while 52.50% 32.50% low knowledge about practices. Age, occupation, contacts, family type, size, source information utilized, orientation were identified as influencing knowledge. major constraints heavy attack pests, diseases, nematodes, weeds, well inadequate management fertilizers pesticides.
