چکیده

Objective: The present research was aimed to develop ketoconazole (KT) loaded microemulsion-based gel formulation for effective topical delivery through enhanced drug solubility, improved skin permeation and reduced side effects overcoming drawbacks of conventional dosage forms. Methods: For the selection oil, surfactant co-surfactant mixture (Smix) ratio, phase titration method used pseudo-ternary diagrams were prepared. D-optimal design employed optimize microemulsion system taking Smix water as independent variables particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, % transmittance cumulative release response variables. Finally, KT-loaded developed evaluated physico-chemical properties, rheological in vitro kinetics ex-vivo permeation. Results: optimized found be a transparent with 19.7 nm 0.268 index,-0.2 mV 97.83% 85.85% at 24 h. possessed pH 6.20, viscosity 2178 cps, spreadability 18.634 g.cm2/sec, adhesiveness 45.989 N/mm2, cohesiveness-85.583. 69.08 (at h), showing sustained Higuchi kinetic profile. exhibited 1.84-fold higher flux compared marketed product. Conclusion: all desired quality attributes properties. study data proved it’s suitability better alternative products treatment fungal infections.

Mucoadhesive Microemulsion Based Prolonged Release Vaginal Gel for Anti-Fungal Drug

The objective of the present investigation was to develop and evaluate microemulsion based gel for the vaginal delivery of Sertaconazole. The solubility of Sertaconazole in various oils, surfactants and co-surfactants were checked to identify components of the microemulsion. The ternary diagrams were plotted to identify the area of microemulsion existence. Various gelling agents were evaluated ...

Lower irritation microemulsion-based rotigotine gel: formulation optimization and in vitro and in vivo studies

BACKGROUND Rotigotine is a potent and selective D1, D2, and D3 dopaminergic receptor agonist. Due to an extensive first-pass effect, it has a very low oral bioavailability (approximately 0.5% in rats). PURPOSE The present investigation aimed to develop a microemulsion-based hydrogel for transdermal rotigotine delivery with lower application site reactions. METHODS Pseudoternary phase diagra...

Formulation of microemulsion gel systems for transdermal delivery of celecoxib: In vitro permeation, anti-inflammatory activity and skin irritation tests.

The aim of this study was to develop suitable microemulsion gel systems for transdermal delivery that could assist dissolution enhancement of poorly water soluble celecoxib and thus improve its skin permeability. Long term oral administration of celecoxib causes serious gastrointestinal adverse effects, which makes it a good candidate for transdermal formulations, yet its low water solubility (...
