Elastic Scattering of Halo Nuclei

We show that under certain conditions a simple relationship exists between the elastic scattering of a composite halo nucleus and of its core from a stable target. The coupling of the elastic and projectile excitation channels is crucial to the analysis, which is particularly useful when the ratio of the halo to the core mass is small. In the case of Be elastic scattering the cross section rela...

Meson Exchange Currents in Kaon Scattering on the Lightest Nuclei

The K + scattering on the lightest nuclei, d, 3 He and 4 He is studied in the framework of multiple scattering theory. Effects from MEC tied to the K + N → KN π reaction are evaluated. We found that at momentum transfers Q 2 < 0.5 (GeV/c) 2 contributions from MEC are much smaller than kaon rescattering corrections. This makes the conventional multiple scattering picture a reliable tool to study...

Meson-nucleon Elastic Scattering and Photo-meson Production via the U-channel’

An explanation of the available pion-nucleon and photo-meson production data in the backward direction is proposed using Baryon trajectories. Special emphasis is given to the constraints, the unequal mass kinematics and their implications. I// (Submitted to Phys. Rev. Letters) t Work supported by the U. S. Proton Elastic Scattering and Neutron Distribution of Unstable Nuclei

We study theoretically how we can determine the neutron density distributions of unstable nuclei from proton elastic scattering. We apply the relativistic impulse model to study the sensitivities of the observables to the density distributions which are expressed in Woods-Saxon form. We find that the both radius and diffuseness of densities can be determined from restricted elastic scattering d...
