Journalism and the Politics of Mobility

This paper presents a theoretical reframing of journalism as fundamentally mobile practice and outlines research agenda for studying the politics mobility in that is centered on everyday work journalists. Our draws geographer Tim Cresswell’s six components mobility, which are motive force, speed, rhythm, route, experience, friction (Cresswell, T. 2010. “Towards Politics Mobility.” Environment Planning D: Society Space 28 (1): 17–31). Cresswell poses key questions about rephrasing them to fit journalists, we get why do journalists move?; how fast according what rhythm route(s) take?; feel when they stops/impedes movement journalists? These entail framework concerned with different conditions bodies, thus drawing attention previously under-studied areas studies.
