Joint Time and Power Allocation for 5G NR Unlicensed Systems

The fifth-generation (5G) and beyond networks are designed to efficiently utilize the spectrum resources meet various quality of service (QoS) requirements. unlicensed frequency bands used by WiFi mainly deployed for indoor applications not always fully occupied. cellular industry has been working enable coexistence. In particular, 5G New Radio in channel (NR-U) supports uplink downlink transmission on maximum occupation time (MCOT) duration. this paper, we consider maximizing total throughput both NR-U jointly optimizing power allocation during MCOT while ensuring fair coexistence with WiFi. Fairness is guaranteed two steps: 1) tuning access related parameters achieve proportional fairness, 2) including 3GPP fairness from perspective as a constraint maximization. Numerical analysis simulation have demonstrated superior performance proposed resource algorithm compared conventional deployment strategies.
