Job characteristics, job attitudes and employee withdrawal behaviour: A latent change score approach

Employee withdrawal is a critical issue for organizations and has been the topic of extensive research. While much turnover research used between-person designs, this study focused on impact within-person changes in job characteristics attitudes behavior, using challenge-hindrance stressor as our main theoretical framework. The focus was workload (a challenge stressor), emotional demands hindrance autonomy resource), positive (dedication) negative (organizational cynicism) process variables. Latent change score modeling based data 1530 Dutch employees collected 3 waves across 2 years showed that workload, resulted organizational cynicism, which turn related to intentions, but not absenteeism.
