Jet-medium Photons as a Probe of Parton Dynamics
نویسندگان
چکیده
Photons resulting from jet-medium interactions offer the opportunity of studying evolving quark distribution in a heavy ion collision. The spectra photons is presented within JETSCAPE framework for two different energy loss models, MARTINI and CUJET. Jet-medium can contribute significantly to spectrum direct intermediate $p_T$ range.

Multiplicity distributions for jet parton showers in a medium
The “jet-quenching” interpretation of suppressed high-pT hadron production at RHIC implies that jet multiplicity distributions and jet-like particle correlations in heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC differ strongly from those seen at ee or pp (pp̄) colliders. Here, we present an approach for describing the changes induced by the medium, which implements jet quenching as a probabilistic medium...
متن کاملProbe Initial Parton Density and Formation Time via Jet Quenching
Medium modification of jet fragmentation function due to multiple scattering and induced gluon radiation leads directly to jet quenching or suppression of leading particle distribution from jet fragmentation. One can extract an effective total parton energy loss which can be related to the total transverse momentum broadening. For an expanding medium, both are shown to be sensitive to the initi...

Recent progress on the parton distribution functions of the photon, both real and virtual, is brieey reviewed and experimental possibilities at HERA are discussed.
متن کاملThe Parton Content of Virtual Photons
The QCD treatment of the parton structure of virtual photons is briefly recalled, and possible limitations and open questions are pointed out. Various models for these densities are compared, completed by a short discussion of the treatment of heavy flavors. Finally, different ways to measure the parton distributions of virtual photons in ee and ep experiments are summed up. Talk presented at t...
متن کاملJet quenching as a probe of gluon plasma formation
We study, in a pQCD calculation augmented by nuclear effects, the jet energy loss needed to reproduce the π spectra in Au+Au collisions at large pT , measured by PHENIX at RHIC. The transverse width of the parton momentum distributions (intrinsic kT ) is used phenomenologically to obtain a reliable baseline pp result. Jet quenching is applied to the nuclear spectra (including shadowing and mult...
