چکیده
Abstract Jellyfish (Cnidaria and Ctenophora) are an essential component of marine ecosystems represent a potential effect, positive or negative, for several economic activities. blooms non-indigenous species (NIS) introduction can shift ecological community structure energy transfer. Despite their importance in ecosystem function services, knowledge jellyfish fauna diversity phenology largely lacking the southern Mediterranean Sea. Here, we present overview current state biodiversity Tunisia. Based on comprehensive literature survey, historical records unpublished data, 66 species, including 11 have been recorded Tunisia between 1994 2020. The 17 year survey showed R. A. solida P. noctiluca phenology. revealed increase range punctata distinct phenologies populations ecoregions.

CIGESMED for divers: Establishing a citizen science initiative for the mapping and monitoring of coralligenous assemblages in the Mediterranean Sea
BACKGROUND Over the last decade, inventorying and monitoring of marine biodiversity has significantly benefited from the active engagement of volunteers. Although several Citizen Science projects concern tropical reef ecosystems worldwide, none of the existing initiatives has yet specifically focused on their Mediterranean equivalents. Mediterranean coralline reefs, known as "coralligenous", ar...
متن کاملJellyfish populations in the Mediterranean Sea
The Mediterranean Sea is home to numerous species of jellyfish, both native and invasive. Some of these jellyfish, which here include pelagic cnidarians, ctenophores and salps, have been monitored for centuries, while others are rarely sampled or studied. In addition, particular species of jellyfish are of high public interest due to impacts on tourism and other human activities, yet others may...

15 صفحه اولA Framework for Inclusion and Diversity in Environmental Citizen Science
Volume 17, Number 1 184 we really know about these organisms, and the difficulties in establishing terrariums with mating pairs. I really appreciate that she includes her e-mail correspondence with experts because it demonstrates the dynamic between scientists and the citizens aiding them in their pursuit of knowledge. She does a good job of painting the picture of a novice starting an adventur...
متن کاملThe diversity and evolution of ecological and environmental citizen science
Citizen science-the involvement of volunteers in data collection, analysis and interpretation-simultaneously supports research and public engagement with science, and its profile is rapidly rising. Citizen science represents a diverse range of approaches, but until now this diversity has not been quantitatively explored. We conducted a systematic internet search and discovered 509 environmental...
