Norming meshes by Bernstein-like inequalities
We show that finite-dimensional univariate function spaces satisfying a Bernstein-like inequality admit norming meshes. In particular, we determine meshes with “optimal” cardinality for trigonometric polynomials on subintervals of the period. As an application we discuss the construction of optimal bivariate polynomial meshes by arc blending. 2000 AMS subject classification: 26D05, 42A05, 65T40.

متن کاملCentral WENO Schemes for Hamilton-Jacobi Equations on Triangular Meshes
We derive Godunov-type semidiscrete central schemes for Hamilton–Jacobi equations on triangular meshes. High-order schemes are then obtained by combining our new numerical fluxes with high-order WENO reconstructions on triangular meshes. The numerical fluxes are shown to be monotone in certain cases. The accuracy and high-resolution properties of our scheme are demonstrated in a variety of nume...
متن کاملIs Co-norming Required?
Researchers who have been responsible for developing test batteries have argued that competent practice requires the use of a "fixed battery" that is co-normed. We tested this assumption with three normative systems: co-normed, meta-regressed norms and a system of these two methods. We analyzed two samples: 330 referred patients and 99 undergraduate volunteers. The T scores generated for referr...
متن کاملOn the norming of homophones.
Associative norms for homographs have been widely used in the study of language processing. A number of sets of these are available, providing the investigator with the opportunity to compare materials collected over a span of years and a range of locations. Words that are homophonic but not homographic have been used to address a variety of questions in memory as well as in language processing...
