Itaconic acid production by fungal isolate ITA27

Itaconic acid is one of industrially important organic produced by fungi. It an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, which can be used as a replacement for petroleum base chemicals. monomer in synthesis biodegradable polymer such fibre, plastics, detergents, rubber, lubricants and bioactive compounds. In this study, thirty five fungal isolates were retrieved from soil samples collected different sites Hisar (Agri-tourism Centre, HAU fields CCSHAU field Khanda Kheri, Hisar). Six selected on the basis primary screening production done Czapek Dox agar/Potato dextrose agar using bromocresol green pH indicator. Selected observed under microscope morphological characteristics. Fungal isolate ITA27 was Aspergillus sp. characteristics itaconic submerged fermentation. HPLC analysis showed peak having similarity to standard acid. 1.28g/l after incubation period 8 days.
