Isoprenoidal GDGTs and GDDs associated with anoxic lacustrine environments

چکیده
We examined membrane-spanning archaeal lipids using ultra high pressure liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) in a suite of sediment samples from both cored sequences (Messel oil shale and Lake Chala) surface sediments (Azorean lakes) encompassing ancient modern (Eocene to Present) lacustrine environments. Additionally we compared the data those marine (Mediterranean sequences, Arabian Sea Monterey outcrop sediments) hypersaline (Vena del Gesso marls) as well suspended particulate matter (SPM) Black Sea. Regular isoprenoidal glycerol dialkyl tetraethers (GDGTs) diethers (GDDs) were most abundant all investigated settings (>90 % 84 respectively). Interestingly, GDGTs with cyclohexyl ring (S-GDGTs) also present almost lake sediments, relative abundances ca. 2–7 and, for first time, their S-GDD counterparts detected (2–10 %). The producers S-GDGTs are still unknown, however our results show that it is likely bottom water anoxia (both seasonally induced or permanent) driving factor production these lipids, whereas previous studies suggested euxinia was required production. Unsaturated (uns-GDGTs, 2 %) only Chala Azorean lakes, but without accompanying uns-GDDs. GMGTs, monoalkyl tetraethers, Messel samples, while GMDs found shale.

Orthogonal 3-GDDs with four groups
Consider a pair of group divisible designs (GDD) with block size 3, index λ = 1, and on the same points and groups. They are said to be orthogonal (OGDD) if (i) whenever two blocks, one from each design, intersect in two points, the third points are in different groups; and (ii) two disjoint pairs of points defining intersecting triples in one GDD fail to do so in the other. A question posed by...

Introduction. Bruxism is a movement disorder characterized by grinding and clenching of the teeth. Etiology of bruxism can be divided into three groups: psychosocial factors, peripheral factors, and pathophysiological factors. Methods. The clinical investigation was conducted at King Khaled Hospital in Hail, Saudi Arabia, in 2012. Results. A 16-year-old Saudi female was brought to the hospital ...
متن کاملGdds Highlights: Galaxy Evolution Revealed
The Gemini Deep Deep Survey, GDDS, produced several significant results relating to the evolution of galaxies. All of these results are consistent with the “downsizing” concept of galaxy formation and evolution, i.e., that the active periods of star formation moved progressively from very massive galaxies at high redshift to much lower mass galaxies at the present epoch. Spectra of massive red ...
