Isolation and Characterization of Polygalacturonase Produced by Tetracoccosporium sp.
Thirty-five fungal strains which isolated from vegetable wastes, were screened for the use of polygalacturonic acid as the sole carbon source. Twenty-five isolates were positive for polygalacturonase activity in cup-plate assay, as evidenced by clear hydrolysation zones. The most productive strain was determined by measuring clear zones formed around colonies stained with ruthenium red.</em...
متن کاملCharacterization of a Bioflocculant (MBF-UFH) Produced by Bacillus sp. AEMREG7
A bioflocculant named MBF-UFH produced by a Bacillus species isolated from sediment samples of Algoa Bay of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa was characterized. The bacterial identification was through 16S rDNA sequencing; nucleotide sequences were deposited in GenBank as Bacillus sp. AEMREG7 with Accession Number KP659187. The production of the bioflocculant was observed to be closely ...
متن کاملIsolation, Fermentation Optimization and Performance Studies of a Novel Biosurfactant Producing Strain Bacillus amyloliquefaciens
Petroleum hydrocarbon is the main source of energy in the world, as well as the main pollutant of soil and water. Accidental spills, uncontrolled landfills or improper storage and leaking underground storage tanks can all lead to contamination1. Compared with physicochemical methods, bioremediation has gained increasing interest in dealing with petroleum hydrocarbons, as it is environmentally f...
متن کاملStudy on Activity and Stability of Proteases from Bacillus Sp. Produced by Submerged Fermentation
Objective: Investigations were carried out to isolate bacteria from saline-alkali soils and determined optimized alkaline protease activity and stability produced by a wild strain of bacillus sp. in submerged fermentation (SMF). Methods: Optimum temperature for enzyme activity in the crude extract was 40 ◦C at a pH between 8.0 and 9.0. The studies on pH stability showed that the enzyme...
