Isolation and Purification of Actinides Using N,O-Hybrid Donor Ligands for Closing the Nuclear Fuel Cycle
نویسندگان
چکیده
Despite the fact that in mass consciousness nuclear power is associated with increased environmental risks, this type of energy today remains one cleanest, most efficient and carbon neutral. Further development hampered by problem appropriate handling spent fuel (SNF). A very attractive concept closed cycle has been developed to solve it. real-life implementation requires technological processes for separation minor actinides from rest SNF components. Recent progress area closely N,O-hybrid donor ligands liquid–liquid extraction. This work systematically reviews available literature on topic provides detailed explanations behavior perspective ligands. Notably, another important aspect application analytics through their incorporation chemical sensors also discussed.

15 صفحه اولInternationalization of the Nuclear Fuel Cycle
The debate over the past five years on how to limit national ownership and control of nuclear fuel-cycle facilities is largely a response to the perceived risk of a growing number of countries to acquire these sensitive technologies. This prospect is seen as a challenge to the nonproliferation regime by leading nuclear weapon states and their allies, by non-weapon states seeking both to stem pr...
متن کاملNuclear waste forms for actinides.
The disposition of actinides, most recently 239Pu from dismantled nuclear weapons, requires effective containment of waste generated by the nuclear fuel cycle. Because actinides (e.g., 239Pu and 237Np) are long-lived, they have a major impact on risk assessments of geologic repositories. Thus, demonstrable, long-term chemical and mechanical durability are essential properties of waste forms for...

In the safeguards agreements between non-nuclear-weaponstate members of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and the International Atomic Energy Agency, there is a possibility for non-nuclear weapon states, acting with the approval of the agency’s board of governors, to remove from safeguards nuclear materials to be used in non-proscribed military activities such as naval nuclear propulsion. Thi...
