This study is designed to isolate and molecular identification of C. neoformans, neoformans pathogenic yeast effect immunocompromised immunocompetent. Methods: collect 50 samples from pigeon dropping fanciers (sputum). The collection time was extended November 2021 February 2022, then culture at SDA, BSA, Cryptococcus Differential agar, esculin Eucalyptus leaves agar media Brain heart infusion with methyldopa, biochemical test including urease confirm by PCR technique sequencing genetic analysis. results showed that 3 swaps taken sputum human included cryptococcus 6 bird neoformans. indicated the virulence normal habitat These indicate there may be a risk for exposure cryptococcal disease due inhalation basidiospores in houses

Isolation and molecular characterization of Cryptococcus species isolated from pigeon nests and Eucalyptus trees
Background and Purpose: Cryptococcus species are pathogenic and non-pathogenic basidiomycete yeasts that are found widely in the environment. Based on phenotypic methods, this genus has many species; however, its taxonomy is presently being re- evaluated by modern techniques. The Cryptococcus species complex includes two sibling taxa of Cryptococcus neoformans and Cryptococcus gattii. We aimed ...

C. neoformans is a basidiomycetous, yeast-like fungus that, following inhalation from an environmental source, causes respiratory and neurological infection in humans and animals. This fungus has 5 serotypes (A, B, C, D, and AD), and recently was subdivided into 3 varieties known as C. neoformans var. grubii (serotype A), C. neoformans var. neoformans (serotype D), and C. neoformans var. gattii...

متن کاملEsculin-based medium for isolation and identification of Cryptococcus neoformans.
A simple medium was developed, using esculin as the substrate, for the isolation and identification of Cryptococcus neoformans. C. neoformans produced a brown-black pigment on the medium; all other yeasts produced no pigment or were light yellow. Esculin is beta-glucose-6,7-dihydroxycoumarin. C. neoformans produced pigment because the 6,7-dihydroxycoumarin component of the esculin molecule was ...
