چکیده
This study presents opportunities for the utilization of timber by-products with defects manufacturing engineered wood panels. Three gluing methods were proposed this waste raw material derived from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) wood. The used combining and enabled a more complete complex defects. physical properties (density moisture content) mechanical (bending strength modulus elasticity) laboratory-fabricated panels evaluated in accordance European standards. highest density 643 kg/m3 bending values (28.6 N/mm2) obtained manufactured using method 3 veneered beech veneer sheets. elasticity laboratory-made reached up to 5580 N/mm2. demonstrated feasibility defective pieces

Growth and Survival Variation among Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) Provenances
Tree height, basal diameter, and survival were examined in thirteen-year-old provenance test established by 30 seed sources of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) at two exotic sites of the species in Southern part of Turkey. Variations within provenance and among provenances and relations among the traits were estimated to compare Scots pine provenance and two other native species. Averages of tr...
متن کاملFungal Infection Increases the Rate of Somatic Mutation in Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris L.).
Somatic mutations are transmitted during mitosis in developing somatic tissue. Somatic cells bearing the mutations can develop into reproductive (germ) cells and the somatic mutations are then passed on to the next generation of plants. Somatic mutations are a source of variation essential to evolve new defense strategies and adapt to the environment. Stem rust disease in Scots pine has a negat...
متن کاملNATURAL WEATHERING OF SCOTS PINE (Pinus sylvestris L.) BOARDS MODIFIED WITH FUNCTIONALISED COMMERCIAL SILICONE EMULSIONS
A quat-silicone micro-emulsion (particle size <40 nm), an amino-silicone macro-emulsion (110 nm), and an alkyl modified silicone macro-emulsion (740 nm) were used to modify Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) sapwood. Treated and uncoated boards were exposed to natural weathering for one year along with water treated controls according to EN 927-3. The treatment with silicone emulsions did not enh...

Polyphenol-rich extract from Pinus sylvestris L. bark--chemical and antitumor studies.
UNLABELLED Pinus sylvestris L. is a very important timber tree in Romania, the bark being the main waste from the wood processing. AIM The aim of this study was to investigate the chemical composition and antitumor effects against HeLa cells of a polyphenol-rich extract from Pinus sylvestris L. bark. MATERIAL AND METHODS The polyphenolic content and profile were analyzed by means of spectro...
