Is quality and availability of facilities at Primary Health Centers (PHCs) associated with healthcare-seeking from PHCs in rural India: An exploratory cross-sectional analysis

The present study aims to analyze the association between availability of facilities at PHCs and their with healthcare-seeking from in rural India. data used were extracted HMIS (Health Management Information System) NFHS-4. Using ‘HMIS health infrastructure data’ we constructed ‘Facility Index’ district level by performing Exploratory Factor Analysis. Multilevel logistic regression concentration curve employed (Facility Index) PHCs. Facility Index was found be positively associated results multilevel analysis showed that people districts ‘very good’ facility index four times (AOR: 4.01, CI: 3.54–4.52) more likely visit PHC compared poor’ while controlling effect background variables. higher prone seek healthcare lower (Concentration Index: 0.175, standard error: 0.0026). Based on our findings can expect if government improves quality then it is will choose for general healthcare-seeking. We believe have important policy implications.
