This article focuses on Edmund Husserl’s first and most enduring interaction with pragmatism, the conception of habit. began a decade before writings phenomenology, continued throughout time he invented developed his new phenomenological method. Husserl encountered pragmatic habit from founder pragmatism Charles S. Peirce around 1890. then further interacted theory through work William James Josiah Royce, two scholars deeply influenced by Peirce. explores how mutually phenomenology at their origins, this dialogue can inform philosophy today.
