چکیده
This study aims to determine if high-voltage PRF could effectively adjunct epidural adhesiolysis (EA) in treating patients with chronic lumbosacral radiating pain (LSRP) and neuropathic characteristics. A total of 409 suffering from a single leg-radiating lasting for > six months unresponsive previous treatments were divided into three different groups: Group 1 consisted 227 LSRP lumbar stenosis, 84 treated EA alone 143 PRF-EA; group 2 99 FBSS (Failed Back Surgery Syndrome), 24 75 3 83 discal herniation, 20 63 PRF-EA. NRS evaluated the outcome at rest movement, SF-12 Physical Mental Health Summary Scales, present intensity scale (PPI), before treatment 1-month follow-up all included study. Descriptive statistics (mean ± SD) reported NRSrest, NRSmov, PPI, PCS, MCS scores. dependent sample T-test was used compare pre post-treatment measures (NRS, MCS), respectively. potential difference between procedures performed groups (EA + versus alone) analyzed by applying an independent two-tailed t-test. P value less than 0.05 represented significant difference. reduction observed one-month NRSrest PPI scores, patients, independently adopted (p < 0.001). PCS12 MCS12 significantly increased No differences detected both vs. PRF-EA) 0.05). PRF-EA reduce improve quality life who suffer context FBSS, or herniation. Adding pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) does not outcome.

متن کاملComparison between bipolar pulsed radiofrequency and monopolar pulsed radiofrequency in chronic lumbosacral radicular pain
BACKGROUND Chronic lumbosacral radicular pain is a challenging medical problem with respect to therapeutic management. Many patients with lumbosacral radicular pain complain of persistent leg pain after transforaminal epidural steroid injection. Nowadays, pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) stimulation on the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) is widely used for controlling lumbosacral radicular pain. METHOD...

two patients with phantom pain were selected for the study. after a positive response to segmental nerve blockade at the l4 and l5 nerve roots, prf was performed on the l4 and l5 dorsal root ganglia. global clinical improvement was good in one patient, with a 40% decrease in pain on the visual analogue scale (vas) in 6 months, and moderate in the second patient, with a 30% decrease in pain scor...
متن کاملLETTER TO THE EDITOR Investigating the Effects of Pulsed Radiofrequency on Dorsal Root Ganglion in Chronic Lumbar Radicular Pain Patients: Is It Not Important
It is interesting to read the paper by Koh et al. on the investigation of the pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) of the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) in patients of chronic lumbosacral radicular (CLR) pain [1]. It is noteworthy that the authors attempted to perform a controlled trial on a challenging topic. However, I am afraid that the study design, results, and conclusions have further “muddied the wat...
