چکیده
A study was undertaken comparing the water requirements of two common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars to generate specific recommendations aimed at optimizing use. To accomplish this work, agronomic performance, responsiveness and productivity these determinate indeterminate growth habits were identified. The 2-year experiment carried out during winter growing season in southeast Brazil. Cultivars IAC Imperador, with an early habit, IPR Campos Gerais, having a mid-season subjected five irrigation levels (54, 70, 77, 100, 132 % crop evapotranspiration). Water deficit affected reducing plant height (by up 29 %), leaf area index 40 soil cover fraction 28 grain yield (GY - by 31 both cultivars. In contrast, excess more detrimental cultivar Imperador. Cultivar Gerais produced 18 than GY, showing superior response depth Out all variables evaluated, correlated most study. other words, evaluation allows for estimating production potential, which helps producers technicians their decision making regarding management practices. Thus, directly affects use production, thereby suggesting need or conservation strategy sustainability irrigated production.

Water Stress Effects on Two Common Bean Cultivars with Contrasting Growth Habits
In most rainfed production areas in Iran, where wheat fallow is common, crop yield and resource sustainability could be improved by changing to more diverse crop rotation. It seems necessary to identify crop cultivars suitable for such diversification. This study was aimed to determine responses of two common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars with different growth habits (Sayyad as an inde...
متن کاملDiscrimination of common bean cultivars using multiplexed microsatellite markers.
Analysis of DNA polymorphisms allows for the genetic identification and precise discrimination of species with a narrow genetic base such as common bean. The primary objectives of the present study were to molecularly characterize commercial common bean varieties developed at various research institutions using microsatellite markers and to determine the degree of genetic diversity among the be...

متن کاملGibberellic Acid Sensitivity among Common Bean Cultivars (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
To lower seed yield loss from directly harvested common bean or dry bean, height of the lower pod-bearing nodes needs to be raised. The objective of this greenhouse study was to stimulate lower stem elongation by gibberellic acid (GA3) of dry bean cultivars. Seeds of cv. Matterhorn, erect indeterminate Type II, and cv. Poncho, prostate indeterminate Type III, were dipped in GA3 at 62.5 to 16,00...
