Irrigation Management in Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Production: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Limited water resources coupled with the increase of human population calls for more efficient use in irrigated agriculture. Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is one most widely grown crops worldwide and very sensitive to stress due its shallow rooting system. With dilemma potato sensitivity drought limited available restricting crop production, researchers growers have been investigating different approaches optimizing yield improving efficiency under irrigation methods. While response affected by other management practices such as fertilizer management, present review focused on environments methods impact quality diseases. Variable results obtained from research studies indicate non-transferability location another cultivars are not same breeders still making effort develop new high-yielding varieties production or a specific trait satisfy consumers exigence. This valuable source information scientists it only regimes productivity reviews but also presents regime diseases potatoes, tuber gravity, metabolite content tubers processed products.

In vitro microtuberization in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivars.
Mechanism of microtuberization in three elite cultivars kufri badhsha (KB), kufri chandramukhi (KCM) and kufri jawahar (KJ) of potato was studied. Sprouts of all the three cultivars were used to obtain in vitro shoot cultures. MS medium supplemented with chlorocholine chloride was found to be most suitable for all the cultivars. Maximum tuberization was obtained under incubation conditions of c...

The experiment was conducted during the period from January to December, 2008 at the Laboratory of Biotechnology, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Gazipur, Bangladesh. A two step procedure was followed for direct plant regeneration of potato. Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium supplemented with 0.5 mg l -1 IBA and 30 g sugar was used for in vitro potato plants development via noda...
متن کاملInvolvement of Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) MKK6 in Response to Potato virus Y
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades have crucial roles in the regulation of plant development and in plant responses to stress. Plant recognition of pathogen-associated molecular patterns or pathogen-derived effector proteins has been shown to trigger activation of several MAPKs. This then controls defence responses, including synthesis and/or signalling of defence hormones and act...
متن کاملPotato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Gogu valley) protein as a novel antimicrobial agent in weanling pigs.
A total of 280 weaned pigs (Landrace x Yorkshire x Duroc) were used in a 28-d growth study to investigate the effect of feeding different levels of potato proteins on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, immune response, small intestinal morphology, and bacterial populations in feces and large intestine. Pigs (initially 6.42 +/- 0.74 kg of BW and 23 +/- 3 d of age) were randomly allotted...
