Irrigation-Intensive Groundwater Modeling of Complex Aquifer Systems Through Integration of Big Geological Data

چکیده

This study identifies hydrogeologic characteristics of complex aquifers based on constructing stratigraphic structure with large, non-uniform well log data. The approach was validated through a modeling the irrigation-intensive Chicot aquifer system, which is an important Pleistocene-Holocene Coastal Lowlands system in southwestern Louisiana. Various types were unified into same data structure, prioritized sources, and interpolated to generate detailed structure. More than 29,000 logs integrated construct stratigraphy model 56 layers for system. revealed interconnections various sands where 90% domain covered by fine-grained sediments. Although groundwater estimated slight storage gain during 2005–2014 entire region, agricultural area depleted. Nevertheless, quick recovery non-irrigation seasons suggests that prolific result shows gulfward flow direction prior pumping has been reversed toward inland areas. large upward vertical from deeper indicates potential saltwater migration base

Data fusion modeling for groundwater systems

Engineering projects involving hydrogeology are faced with uncertainties because the earth is heterogeneous, and typical data sets are fragmented and disparate. In theory, predictions provided by computer simulations using calibrated models constrained by geological boundaries provide answers to support management decisions, and geostatistical methods quantify safety margins. In practice, curre...

Simulation of Nitrate Concentration in Aquifer in Qazvin Plain Using Groundwater Modeling System

Background Nitrate is among major anions in drinking water. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate its concentration in water resources. Modeling is a management strategy to predict the behavior of nitrate in water resources. Objective The current study aimed to predict nitrate concentration in the aquifer of Qazvin plain, using Groundwater Modeling System (GMS). Methods The GMS7.1 software ...

Model-Driven Development of Complex and Data-Intensive Integration Processes

Due to the changing scope of data management from centrally stored data towards the management of distributed and heterogeneous systems, the integration takes place on different levels. The lack of standards for information integration as well as application integration resulted in a large number of different integration models and proprietary solutions. With the aim of a high degree of portabi...
