چکیده

Aims. To study the heating of solar chromospheric magnetic and nonmagnetic regions by acoustic magnetoacoustic waves, deposited acoustic-energy flux derived from observations strong lines is compared with total integrated radiative losses. Methods. A set 23 quiet-Sun weak-plage were observed in Mg II k h Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph (IRIS). The was Doppler velocities at two different geometrical heights corresponding to middle upper chromosphere. scaled nonlocal thermodynamic equilibrium 1D hydrostatic semi-empirical models – obtained fitting synthetic line profiles applied compute characteristics waves studied means a wavelet analysis. Results. Observed propagate upward supersonic speed. In quiet chromosphere, sufficient balance losses maintain temperatures layers under study. active-region comparison shows that contribution only 10−30%. Conclusions. Acoustic play an important role heating, depositing main part their energy compensate for substantial fraction regions. active regions, too small chromosphere has be heated other mechanisms.

Issn 1845–8319 an Estimate of Chromospheric Heating by Acoustic Waves

Several mechanisms may heat the solar chromosphere: acoustic waves, magnetoacoustic waves (slow, fast, and Alfvén waves), and small-scale magnetic reconnections. Based on observations in the Ca II 854.2 nm line, the contribution of acoustic waves to the heating of quiet and plage regions in the chromosphere is discussed. The energy released by radiative losses is compared with the energy deposi...

The Heating of the Solar Chromosphere and Corona by Non-stationary Acoustic Waves

The heating of the solar chromosphere and corona is a fundamental problem that still deserves further investigation. Recent improvement of the theory of acoustic wave propagation in the solar atmosphere including non-stationary solutions, carried out by Wang et al. (1994), raises the possibility for a rediscussion about the role of these waves as a heating mechanism. The main result of this the...

On Heating of Solar Corona and Acceleration of Low-Speed Solar Wind by Acoustic Waves Generated in Corona

We investigate possibilities of solar coronal heating by acoustic waves generated not at the photosphere but in the corona, aiming at heating in the midto low-latitude corona where the low-speed wind is expected to come from. Acoustic waves of period τ ∼ 100s are triggered by chromospheric reconnection, one model of small scale magnetic reconnection events recently proposed by Sturrock. These w...

Helical Magnetic Fields in Solar Active Regions: Theory vs. Observations

The mean value of the normalized current helicity αp = B · (∇×B)/B 2 in solar active regions is on the order of 10 m, negative in the northern hemisphere, positive in the southern hemisphere. Observations indicate that this helicity has a subsurface origin. Possible mechanisms leading to a twist of this amplitude in magnetic flux tubes include the solar dynamo, convective buffeting of rising fl...

Heating events in the quiet solar corona: multiwavelength correlations

Coronal, transition region and chromospheric lines and centimeter radio emission of the quiet Sun have been simultaneously observed by SoHO and the VLA. The corona above the magnetic network has a higher pressure and is more variable than above the interior of supergranular cells. The Fourier transform in time is found to have steeper spectra in the corona and upper chromosphere than in the tra...
