Iran's Groundwater Hydrochemistry

چکیده

Iran's groundwater hydrochemistry has not been well understood. In this study, is evaluated using a rich, ground-trusted data sampled from 9,468 wells distributed across the country in 2011. Twelve quality parameters were analyzed each sample, resulting 113,616 over study period. Examination of anions-cations shows that concentrations sodium, calcium, chloride, and sulphate are higher than acceptable threshold for drinking-use suggested by World Health Organization about 40%, 21%, 25%, 20% samples, respectively. The results water index reveal most resources central, southern eastern regions Iran, which supply majority domestic populated cities, do meet requirements drinking-use. Although northern parts fulfills irrigation-use, it only suitable irrigation salinity-friendly crops regions. Ionic types facies indicate dominance mix type 13 out 30 sub-basins, followed sodium-chloride nine sub-basins. Local geology lithology mainly attributed to distribution Iran. general, our findings distinctive relationship between geological-geomorphological features hydrochemical facies/groundwater quality. can be used formulation new strategies policies management future.

Hydrochemistry and Groundwater Quality Assessment of Dantewada District, Chhattisgarh, India

Hydrogeological investigation have been carried out in Dantewada district. Groundwater samples were collected from selected locations in month of September 2013 and analyzed for major and minor cations & anions. Piper Diagram identified Ca-Mg-HCO3 dominantin water in most of the samples. The dominance of anions and cations were of the order of HCO3 > SO4 2>Cl > NO3 > PO4 2and Mg 2+ >Ca 2+ > Na ...

Iodine mobilization in groundwater system at Datong basin, China: evidence from hydrochemistry and fluorescence characteristics.

Characterizing the speciation of iodine in groundwater is essential for understanding its hydrogeochemical behavior in aquifer systems. To quantify the variations in iodine speciation and assess factors controlling the distribution and transformation of iodine, 82 groundwater samples and 1 rain water were collected from the Datong basin, northern China in this study. Factor analysis (FA) and ex...

A multivariate statistical approach to spatial representation of groundwater contamination using hydrochemistry and microbial community profiles.

Managers of landfill sites are faced with enormous challenges when attempting to detect and delineate leachate plumes with a limited number of monitoring wells, assess spatial and temporal trends for hundreds of contaminants, and design long-term monitoring (LTM) strategies. Subsurface microbial ecology is a unique source of data that has been historically underutilized in LTM groundwater desig...

Contribution of the aquitard to the regional groundwater hydrochemistry of the underlying confined aquifer in the Pearl River Delta, China.

Aquitards are capable of generating and preserving large amounts of chemicals. The release of the chemicals from the aquitards poses a potential contamination risk to groundwater that may be used as a drinking water source. This work aimed to identify the contribution of hydrogeochemical processes in the aquitards to groundwater hydrochemistry in the underlying confined basal aquifer by studyin...
