Ionospheric 14.5 Day Periodic Oscillation during the 2019 Antarctic SSW Event

چکیده

The International Global Navigation Satellite Systems Service (IGS) ionospheric total electron content (TEC) data are used to study the periodic perturbation in ionosphere during 2019 Antarctic sudden stratospheric warming (SSW) event, a rare Southern Hemisphere minor SSW event last 40 years. A 14.5 day signal with zonal wavenumber of 0 is observed mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) region this period, which could be related lunar tide. disturbance IGS TEC exhibits local time dependence latitudinal variation, maximum amplitude appearing between 1000 1600 LT equatorial ionization anomaly (EIA) crest regions. Additionally, oscillation shows an obvious longitudinal variability, weakest 30° W–60° E.

Zonal asymmetry of the Antarctic Oscillation

[1] In this research, the zonal asymmetry of the southern annular mode, or the Antarctic Oscillation (AAO), is studied. It is indicated that apparent zonal asymmetry exists in the normalized sea level pressure differences between the middle and high latitudes during the boreal summer, among different longitudes, especially between the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. Results show that the South...

Multi-Wavelength Intra-Day Variability and Quasi-Periodic Oscillation in Blazars

We reviewed multi-wavelength blazars variability and detection of quasi-periodic oscillations on intra-day timescales. The variability timescale from a few minutes to up to less than a days is commonly known as intra-day variability. These fast variations are extremely useful to constrain the size of the emitting region, black hole mass estimation, etc. It is noticed that in general, blazars sh...

Variations of the ionospheric electron density during the Bhuj seismic event

Ionospheric perturbations by natural geophysical activity, such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, have been studied since the great Alaskan earthquake in 1964. Measurements made from the ground show a variation of the critical frequency of the ionosphere layers before and after the shock. In this paper, we present an experimental investigation of the electron density variations around the ...

Antioxidant Status in Elite Three-Day Event Horses during Competition

The objective of this study was to determine if competition intensity would have an effect on antioxidant status in horses before and during a three-day event. Body weight, body condition score, and blood was sampled from CCI2* (n = 19) and CCI3* (n = 23) horses before the start of dressage, 20 to 30 min following cross-country, and 18-24 h after cross-county. Data were analyzed using a PROC MI...
