Ionic Liquid-Aided Synthesis of Anatase TiO2 Nanoparticles: Photocatalytic Water Splitting and Electrochemical Applications

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles play a crucial role in the production of hydrogen gas evolution. Among four polymorphic phases TiO2 (anatase, rutile, brookite, and (B)), anatase phase shows good photo activity catalytic applications. We prepared single anatasephase usinga facile one-step ionothermal method with existence 1-(3,6-dioxa heptane) 3-methyl imidazolium methane sulfonate IL[DOMIMS]. The ionic liquid-based substitution reaction mechanism was utilized for synthesis TiO2. structure nanoparticle-like morphology synthesized nanomaterial were confirmed by XRD analysis TEM studies. vibrational frequency Ti–O–Ti bond at 544 cm−1 measured usingthe FTIR spectrum, UV absorbance sample studied UV/visible spectra. showed best results H2 generation via awater-splitting reaction, liberating 2084 μmol·g−1·h−1 gas. act as material electrochemical applications such supercapacitors sensing dopamine, well better photocatalyst degradation methylene blue.
