Investigations on Mechanical Behaviour of Micro B4C Particles Reinforced Al6061 Alloy Metal Composites

Objective: To develop and evaluate the mechanical behavior of 3, 6, 9 12 wt. % B4C reinforced Al6061 alloy composites. Method: These composites were produced by utilizing stir cast process. The prepared metal characterized SEM, EDS XRD analysis to know distribution particles as well presence in alloy. Various properties evaluated per ASTM standards impact boron carbide on Findings: By adding hardness, ultimate tensile, yield strength compression matrix was enhanced 23.9%, 15.4 14.9% 34.7% respectively.
