چکیده
Waste management is an area of significant global concern. The reuse waste materials (such as: plastics, glass, wood, etc.) in concrete manufacturing has been studied for potential cost savings, improvements quality, and reduction environmental impact leading to sustainability. This study examines the performance containing recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) granular form replace fine aggregate. A series specimens Grade 32 mix were cast using PET granules as partial replacement aggregates mixture (0%, 10%, 30%, 50% by volume aggregate). Important properties such workability (slump), density, compressive strength, elastic modulus, tensile flexural crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD) evaluated together with microstructural observations. experimental results indicated that volumetric 10% positively impacted characteristics concrete. findings further revealed improvement ductility content, albeit effect was more pronounced granules. mechanical compared against available Australian American design guidelines a strong linear relationship observed. Lastly, this on optimum relative those reported literature, particularly aggregate replaced • use environmentally economically beneficial. Replacement improves strength characteristics. Partial does not have adverse microstructure

Waste Polyethylene Terephthalate as an Aggregate in Concrete
This paper reports the strength behaviour of concrete containing three types of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET) aggregate. Results are also analysed to determine the PET-aggregate’s effect on the relationship between the flexural and splitting tensile strengths and compressive strength and to know whether the relationships between compressive strength and other strength characteristic...
متن کاملRecycled glass as a partial replacement for fine aggregate in structural concrete – Effects on compressive strength
Waste management is becoming a major issue for communities worldwide. Glass, being nonbiodegradable, is not suitable for addition to landfill, and as such recycling opportunities need to be investigated. Due to the high material consumption of the construction industry, the utilisation of waste glass as a partial replacement for fine aggregate in structural concrete is particularly attractive. ...
متن کاملRegression Models to Evaluate Compressive Strength of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Fibre Reinforced Recycle Aggregate Concrete
-This paper presents the compressive strength of PET fibre reinforced recycles aggregate concrete. The Natural Aggregate (NC) was replaced by recycle aggregate (RA) in the proportion of 25, 50, 75 and 100%. PET fibres were added to the Recycle Aggregate Concrete (RAC) by 1 and 2% volume. Total 45 cubes were cast and tested. The results showed that as the % of RA and volume fraction of PET fibre...
متن کاملAssessing relationships among properties of demolished concrete, recycled aggregate and recycled aggregate concrete using regression analysis.
Recycled demolished concrete (DC) as recycled aggregate (RA) and recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) is generally suitable for most construction applications. Low-grade applications, including sub-base and roadwork, have been implemented in many countries; however, higher-grade activities are rarely considered. This paper examines relationships among DC characteristics, properties of their RA and...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation on the Properties of Concrete with Plastic PET (Bottle) Fibres as Fine Aggregates
The Disposal of large quantity of plastic cover may cause pollution of land, water bodies and air. The proposed concrete which is made up by adding plastic in concrete may help to reuse the plastic cover as one of the constituents material of concrete, to improve the certain properties of concrete. The properties of concrete as varying percentages of plastic will test for compressive strength a...
