Investigation on Anisotropic Mechanical Behavior of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy via Schmid Factor and Kernel Average Misorientation Distribution

Anisotropic mechanical behavior of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy is essential for its forming and service. Generally, it preferable to minimize in-plane anisotropy sheet. The present work investigates by tensile tests along rolling direction (RD), transverse (TD), diagonal (DD) sheet, evaluating anisotropic yield flow behaviors exploring causes these properties. intrinsic deformation mechanism tensioned different directions was studied with Schmid factor kernel average misorientation (KAM) analysis. samples RD TD sheet (denoted as sample sample) show similar stress, while DD leads lower strength. exhibited closely related crystallographic texture. stresses are higher than that due density dislocations generated during deformation, in which prismatic ?a? make a great contribution coordinating plastic deformation.
