چکیده

Microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) of concrete in sanitary sewer pipe and manholes is the result dilute sulfuric acid (H2SO4) dissolving cement matrix. The produced by a complex series chemical biochemical reactions. objectives this paper are: (1) to review basic science MIC process starting with various biological processes leading production acid; (2) discuss historical attempts fortify concrete; (3) present methods reduce odors corrosion; (4) evaluate technology behind use antimicrobial admixture. literature authors’ on-site laboratory investigations suggest that involves varied surface interactions. addition liquid additive as per ASTM standard procedure shows resistance its direct relation mixing time Many empirical inputs like areas, rates, impact cement, aggregate types varying installation repair structures are identified. results study show concrete, there was no growth Thiobacillus bacteria hence production. This research facilitates both long-term field experiences for provide reductions causing manholes, pump stations other structures.

assessment of deep word knowledge in elementary and advanced iranian efl learners: a comparison of selective and productive wat tasks

testing plays a vital role in any language teaching program. it allows teachers and stakeholders, including program administrators, parents, admissions officers and prospective employers to be assured that the learners are progressing according to an accepted standard (douglas, 2010). the problems currently facing language testers have both practical and theoretical implications but the first i...

High-Resolution Microbial Community Succession of Microbially Induced Concrete Corrosion in Working Sanitary Manholes

Microbially-induced concrete corrosion in headspaces threatens wastewater infrastructure worldwide. Models for predicting corrosion rates in sewer pipe networks rely largely on information from culture-based investigations. In this study, the succession of microbes associated with corroding concrete was characterized over a one-year monitoring campaign using rRNA sequence-based phylogenetic met...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

investigation of single-user and multi-user detection methods in mc-cdma systems and comparison of their performances
