چکیده
In this study, fracture orientations in carbonate reservoirs were determined using a multicomponent velocity analysis based on shear wave splitting. The is the estimated velocities of large seismic events with different polarizations. fractured zone dominant orientation, weak amplitude split events, including noise, result waves that are polarized toward symmetry and anisotropy axes propagate common fast slow velocity, respectively. Thus, stack should show high coherency anomalies directions parallel orthogonal to strike. Furthermore, because applied locally at specific depth range, it less susceptible effects overburden noise. from four oilfields compared those interpreted fullbore microimager core data. Fractures two offshore strike NNE-SSW NW-SE, which related Zagros stress. onshore reservoir strikes NE-SW, while deeper fractures aligned N-S direction. findings study promising, particularly for especially located Abu Dhabi, characterized by heterogeneity complex network tectonic history. order obtain geometrical parameters scale, recommended implement adapted after acquiring three component zero-offset vertical profiling. Redeveloping Mature Fractured Carbonate Reservoirs
Naturally fractured carbonate reservoirs (NFCRs) comprise the majority of the oil and gas reservoirs around the Persian Gulf. Many of these reservoirs have a long history of exploitation, but vast amounts of oil remain in place. A major redevelopment process for light oil based NFRs will likely be the use of horizontal wells combined with gravity drainage at constant pressure based on voidage...
متن کاملFoam Application in Fractured Carbonate Reservoirs: A Simulation Study
Fractured carbonate reservoirs account for 25% of world’s total oil resources and for 90% of Iranian oil reserves. Since calcite and dolomite minerals are oil wet, gas oil gravity drainage (GOGD) is known as the most influencing production mechanism. The most important issue within gas injection into fractured media is the channeling problem which makes the efficiency of gas injection process e...

Laboratory experiments were performed on cubic samples of Austin Chalk to investigate the effect of fabric-induced anisotropy on the interpretation of fracture specific stiffness. The experimental results found that the fabric-induced layering complicates the interpretation of fracture specific stiffness. Seismic measurements from a sample with small layers (i.e., spacing and thickness) show th...

متن کاملUTILIZING CONCEPTUAL MODELING IN THE STUDY OF ONE OF THE IRANIAN FRACTURED CARBONATE RESERVOIRS
A typical Iranian carbonate matrix block surrounded by an open fracture was modeled in order to understand the fracture-matrix interaction and realize how to model the interaction best. The modeling was carried out by using a fine-scaled Eclipse model in the single porosity mode (the fractures were explicitly modeled). The model was extended to a stack of 6 matrix blocks to understand block-to-...
