INVESTIGATION OF BIOFILM FORMATION ON KALDNES K1

The moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) has proven to be an effective system for the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater. main operating mechanism reactors is growth attached biomass in carriers bioreactor with mixing provided by diffusers aerobic bioreactors or mechanical stirrers anoxic/anaerobic bioreactors. Biofilm formation a complex process affected microbial composition properties. 
 In this study, performance on Kaldnes K1 was investigated two (AnMBBR1 AnMBBR2) using textile Both MBBRs 40% fill rate were operated 6-hour hydraulic retention time (HRT). AnMBBR1 under anaerobic conditions while AnMBBR2 at different aeration rates (0.001-0.004 m3 air/m3reactor). highest concentration observed ratio 0.004 m3air/m3reactor, corresponding 4062 mg/L. results showed that limited improved rather than conditions.
