Investigation Into Antioxidant and Antinuclear Effect and Mechanism of Sesamum Indicum Leaves in a Rodent Model

Objective: An ethanolic extract of Sesamum indicum Linn was used to test for phytochemicals, antioxidant activity, and gastroprotective effects. Study Design: Cross-Sectional Place Study: Rashid Latif Medical College Lahore. Duration July 2021 March 2022 Materials methods: This study ulcerated Wister albino rats using pylorus ligation indomethacin-induced ulcer screening. Ulceration required ligation. These screening models were used. S. leaves (EESIL) at 100, 200, 400 mg/kg (orally 7 days) compared against omeprazole, a common medication. The trial lasted seven days. Throughout the course experiment, readings taken following variables: stomach content; pH; total acidity; pepsin activity score; free index (UI); percentage inhibition ulcers; mean mucin, pepsin, protein (UI). Results: In comparison control group, model resulted in decrease acidity, content, score, % inhibition. Moreover, overall acidity level lower (P< 0.05 P< 0.01).
