Investigation and Process Parameter Optimization on Wire Electric Discharge Machining of Aluminium 6082 Alloy

Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) is an unconventional process that being extensively used in the aerospace,medical devices, die, tooling, and automotive industries for high-hardness materials with conductivity. In present work, WEDM of aluminium 6082 alloys was carried out since it influences diversified applications manufacturing industries. The includes extensive number variables influence its execution. However, based on literature survey, three parameters such as pulse-on time (PTON), pulse-off (PTOFF), wire feed (WF) were taken into consideration. factorial design selection parameter levels arrived at 27 trails machining. output responses WEDM, namely, surface roughness (SR), kerf width (KF), metal removal rate (MRR) measured, optimization also to minimize significant effect productivity quality components. measured response compared predicted methodology (RSM) results; found SR KF values decreased increase PTON. MRR increased
