INVESTIGATING TRANSLATION COURSES AT AN UNDERGRADUATE EFL TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM: VIEWS OF INSTRUCTORS AND PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS

This study aims to investigate the contribution of translation courses pre-service EFL teachers’ professional skills. Also, it is aimed get in-depth insights from both teachers and instructors in order identify weaknesses strengths teacher education programs. was designed as a qualitative case participants were two course ten teachers. The convenient sampling method used, relevant data collected through semi-structured interviews. After analysis, found that are very rewarding for terms increasing their linguistic competence, improving reading comprehension making contributions teaching language skills; however, also suggested number should be increased content these redesigned turn them into introductory who plan work translators or pursue master’s degree programs after graduation. choosing materials wide range topics would make positive prospective intercultural competence.
