Investigating Functional Variation across Academic Disciplines: A Multidimensional Analysis of Research Articles

The current study aims to investigate the functional variation in academic writing across six major disciplines of sciences, namely biology, physics, and computer science social linguistics, sociology, psychology research articles. Furthermore, also compares use language sciences articles (RAs). For this purpose, a corpus 300 from sub-disciplines journals was compiled conduct analysis. A Multidimensional Analysis Tagger using version 1.3.2 selected tag evaluate RAs corpus. triangulation method deployed analyze data quantitatively interpret results qualitatively. findings indicate that there are differences employed disciplines, particularly terms being informational, non-narrative, persuasive. Likewise, comparable outcomes were noticed dimension 3. may be helpful for researchers, students different teachers spot trends various sub-disciplines.
