چکیده

Abstract Nonlinear energy sinks (NESs) are broadband passive vibration absorbers that nonlinearly connected to a host system. If an NES is attached multi-degree-of-freedom mechanical system under transient loading, the vibrations in will transfer and dissipate NES. During this transfer, sequentially resonates with modal frequencies of system, dissipating one mode at time. This phenomenon called resonance capture cascade (RCC). So far, RCC has only been investigated for NESs hardening nonlinear stiffness. Because stiffness, happens from high low frequency. In study, softening stiffness proposed. Investigating slow invariant manifolds reveals inverted occurs, where The analysis carried out by exploiting high-dimensional manifolds. proposed compared conventional

Nonlinear Modal Interactions of a Cantilever Beam with an Internal Resonance

Nonlinear torsional-flexural modal ;nteractions of a torsionally excited cantilever beam are studied in the case of one-to-one internal resonance. Discrete two DOF model is derived from the equations of motion for the continuous canthwer beam by using the Galerkin mode approx;mat;on method. The method of averaging is used to obtain the approx;mat;on to the response of the discrete model. Steady...

The Transient Dynamics of a Beam Mounted on Spring Supports and Equipped with the Nonlinear Energy Sink

The transient dynamics of a beam mounted on springer-damper support and equipped with a nonlinear energy sink (NES) is investigated under the effects of shock loads. The equations of motion are derived using the Hamilton’s principle leading to four hybrid ordinary and partial differential equations and descritized using the Galerkin method. An adaptive Newmark method is employed for accurate an...

Identification of Nonlinear Modal Interactions in a Beam-Mass-Spring-Damper System based on Mono-Frequency Vibration Response

In this paper, nonlinear modal interactions caused by one-to-three internal resonance in a beam-mass-spring-damper system are investigated based on nonlinear system identification. For this purpose, the equations governing the transverse vibrations of the beam and mass are analyzed via the multiple scale method and the vibration response of the system under primary resonance is extracted. Then,...

Structural dynamics and resonance in plants with nonlinear stiffness.

Although most biomaterials are characterized by strong stiffness nonlinearities, the majority of studies of plant biomechanics and structural dynamics focus on the linear elastic range of their behavior. In this paper, the effects of hardening (elastic modulus increases with strain) and softening (elastic modulus decreases with strain) nonlinearities on the structural dynamics of plant stems ar...
