چکیده

The mango mealybug Rastrococcus invadens (Williams) (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae) is a destructive and important insect pest of fruit trees in Africa Asia, especially the mango. Females nymphs feed on plant leaves fruits produce honeydew that causes sooty mold, leading to yield reduction. Although it an pest, distribution R. under different climate change scenarios has not been established. In this study, we predicted suitable habitat for occurrence current future [two Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) scenarios: (SSP2-4.5 SSP5-8.5) years 2050s 2070s], using environmental variables four ecological niche models viz ., maxent, random forest, boosted regression trees, support vector machines. performance accuracy these were evaluated area curve (AUC), true skill statistic (TSS), correlation (COR), deviance. All had high (AUC ≥ 0.96, TSS 0.88, COR 0.74 deviance ≤ 0.3) predicting potential . Among models, forest algorithm highest = 0.99, 0.95, 0.91 0.14) , followed by maxent 0.97, 0.90, 0.81 0.22). Similarly, Bangladesh, Laos, Myanmar, India, Thailand, Vietnam Cambodia as well Brazil, Venezuela South America showed establishment. conditions (the 2070s), will increase regardless SSPs scenario indicating expansion geographical range pest. Identification of Mealybug- (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae) Resistant Turf-Type Buffalograss Germplasm

Two species of mealybugs, Tridiscus sporoboli (Cockerell) and Trionymus sp., have emerged as potentially serious pests of turf-type buffalograss, Buchloe dactyloides (Nuttall) Engelmann. Sixty-two buffalograss selections were screened for resistance to these mealybugs in 4 greenhouse trials. Using a 1-6 rating scale (1 = no signs of mealybugs, 6 = >75% of tillers infested), 'Prairie' and '609' ...

Three new species of mealybug (Hemiptera, Coccomorpha, Pseudococcidae) on persimmon fruit trees (Diospyros kaki) in southern Brazil

Brazil has the greatest insect diversity in the world; however, little is known about its scale insect species (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha). Mealybugs (Pseudococcidae) have been found in at least 50% of persimmon orchards Diospyros kaki L. in the southern part of the country. In this study three new mealybug species on persimmon trees located in the Serra Gaúcha Region, RS, Brazil, namely, Anisococ...

The Bionomics of the Cocoa Mealybug, Exallomochlus hispidus (Morrison) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae), on Mangosteen Fruit and Three Alternative Hosts

The cocoa mealybug, Exallomochlus hispidus Morrison (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) is known to attack mangosteen, an important fruit export commodity for Indonesia. The mealybug is polyphagous, so alternative host plants can serve as a source of nourishment. This study aimed to record the bionomics of E. hispidus on mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) and three alternative hosts, kabocha squash (C...
