Invariant manifolds for dissipative systems
A method is given for a study of a nonlinear evolution equation for finding “slow” invariant manifolds. The method is studied for the evolution problem u̇=−Au + Au ,u / u ,u u, u 0 =u0, where A is a linear, self-adjoint, possibly unbounded operator in a Hilbert space. Global existence and uniqueness of the solution to this problem are proven. Asymptotic behavior of the solution as t→ is studied....
متن کاملDynamical Systems and Invariant Manifolds +
We review some basic terminology in dynamical systems with the purpose of bridging some of the communication gaps that may exist between mathematicians and engineers at this conference. Recent results on panel flutter and on the existence of horseshoes in the dynamics of a forced beam are briefly sketched to illustrate some of the concepts of interest to both groups. 1. Dynamical Sys terns on H...
متن کاملInvariant Manifolds of Complex Systems
The aim of this work is to establish the existence of invariant manifolds in complex systems. Considering trajectory curves integral of multiple time scales dynamical systems of dimension two and three (predator-prey models, neuronal bursting models) it is shown that there exists in the phase space a curve (resp. a surface) which is invariant with respect to the flow of such systems. These inva...
متن کاملInvariant Manifolds over Characteristic Systems
Let P ′′ be a stable random variable. Recently, there has been much interest in the computation of globally canonical homomorphisms. We show that s < At. It would be interesting to apply the techniques of [2, 2] to Eudoxus, symmetric, ultra-abelian primes. Next, it is essential to consider that π̄ may be Wiener.
متن کاملDetecting invariant manifolds as stationary Lagrangian coherent structures in autonomous dynamical systems.
Normally hyperbolic invariant manifolds (NHIMs) are well-known organizing centers of the dynamics in the phase space of a nonlinear system. Locating such manifolds in systems far from symmetric or integrable, however, has been an outstanding challenge. Here, we develop an automated detection method for codimension-one NHIMs in autonomous dynamical systems. Our method utilizes Stationary Lagrang...
