چکیده
The effect of adding inulin to balanced diets for tropical gar (Atractosteus tropicus) larvae on growth, survival, digestive enzyme activity, and antioxidant activity was evaluated. were supplemented with 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5% in addition a control diet (0% inulin). A total 1800 A. tropicus distributed 18 tanks used; the fed five times day (8:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 18:00) Artemia nauplii from absorption yolk (from 3–7 days after hatching, DAH) up 10 DAH, which mixed experimental feeds 8–11 DAH (co-feeding) exclusively 12 21 DAH. Larvae inulin) had highest growth weight length, followed by fish 2.5 2.0% inclusions. However, survival showed that inclusion percentage (34.7%) compared rest treatments. On other hand, enzymatic activities (acid alkaline proteases, amylase, lipase) recorded 2 inulin. Likewise, catalase (CAT) superoxide dismutase (SOD) higher 0% Supplementation is recommended as it improves during this early stage life.

Use of Potato Starch in Diets of Tropical Gar (Atractosteus tropicus, Gill 1863) Larvae
Tropical gar, Atractosteus tropicus, is a carnivorous fish species from Southern México with high value and acceptance in local markets. Therefore, the present study aims to spare proteins in diets for larviculture of this species. An experiment was performed using three different experimental diets with increasing carbohydrate levels based on potato starch (S) and decreasing protein content (P...

A total of 8 helminth species were recorded in an examination of 43 tropical gar, Atractosteus tropicus Gill, collected at the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve, Tabasco, Mexico. The parasite species included 1 adult trematode, 3 metacercariae, 1 cestode, 1 adult nematode, and 2 nematode larvae. Six of these 8 species were rare, with low prevalence (< 17%) and abundance (< 1.0 helminths per ...
متن کاملAcute toxicity and cholinesterase inhibition of the nematicide ethoprophos in larvae of gar Atractosteus tropicus (Semionotiformes: Lepisosteidae).
Biomarkers are a widely applied approach in environmental studies. Analyses of cholinesterase (ChE), glutathione S-transferase (GST) and lipid peroxidation (LPO) are biomarkers that can provide information regarding early effects of pollutants at different biochemical levels on an organism. The aim of this study was to evaluate the biomarker approach on a Costa Rican native and relevant species...
