چکیده
Abstract Despite their high abundance and species richness, tilapiines have been compromised by various factors especially overfishing, climate change, uncontrolled fish transfers introductions. Fish introductions negatively impacted native tilapiine populations through competition, predation, hybridization, introgression compromising genetic integrity. The hybridization levels of different in the Lake Victoria basin remain relatively understudied. study utilized nuclear microsatellite mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) markers to investigate signals compare diversity Victoria, Kenya, using next-generation sequencing. Low from Oreochromis niloticus into other were detected Bayesian clustering analysis principal coordinate (PCoA). results contribute need for conservation measures these species.

Strategies and Clinical Applications of Next Generation Sequencing
Abstract DNA sequencing is one of the great valuable techniques in molecular biology, which can be used to detect the sequence of nucleotides in a DNA fragment. The high-throughput sequencing known as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) revolutionized genomic research and molecular biology; therefore, the whole human genome can be sequenced with a low cost in several days. NGS technology is simi...
متن کاملNext Generation Sequencing Mitochondrial DNA Analysis in Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism is a complex genetic disorder where both de-novo and inherited genetics factors play a role. Next generation sequencing approaches have been extensively used to identify rare variants associated with autism. To date, all such studies were focused on nuclear genome; thereby leaving the role of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) variation in autism unexplored. Recently, analytical tools have been d...
متن کاملEfficient cross-species capture hybridization and next-generation sequencing of mitochondrial genomes from noninvasively sampled museum specimens.
The ability to uncover the phylogenetic history of recently extinct species and other species known only from archived museum material has rapidly improved due to the reduced cost and increased sequence capacity of next-generation sequencing technologies. One limitation of these approaches is the difficulty of isolating and sequencing large, orthologous DNA regions across multiple divergent spe...
متن کاملEfficiency of microsatellite isolation from orchids via next generation sequencing
Microsatellites, or simple sequence repeats (SSRs), are highly polymorphic, co-dominant genetic markers commonly used for population genetics analyses although de novo development of species specific microsatellites is costand time-intensive. Orchidaceae is one of the most species-rich families of angiosperms with more than 30,000 species estimated. Despite its high species-diversity, microsate...
متن کاملMicrosatellite instability detection by next generation sequencing.
BACKGROUND Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a useful phenotype in cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Nevertheless, methods to detect MSI status from next generation DNA sequencing (NGS) data are underdeveloped. METHODS We developed an approach to detect the MSI phenotype using NGS (mSINGS). The method was used to evaluate mononucleotide microsatellite loci that were incidentally sequenced aft...
