Introduction to Lattice Theory
A lattice is defined as an algebra on a nonempty set with binary operations join and meet which are commutative and associative, and satisfy the absorption identities. The following kinds of lattices are considered: distributive, modular, bounded (with zero and unit elements), complemented, and Boolean (with complement). The article includes also theorems which immediately follow from definitions.
متن کاملIntroduction to Transverse Lattice Gauge Theory
I review a new treatment of an old idea for light-front quantization of lattice gauge theories and give new results from some illustrative calculations: [I] Transverse Lattice Gauge Theory; [II] Pure Glue; [III] Heavy Sources and Winding Modes; [IV] An Example – Large-N QCD in 2 + 1 Dimensions. I TRANSVERSE LATTICE GAUGE THEORY A Light-Front Co-ordinates In the constituent quark model, hadrons ...
متن کاملIntroduction to the theory of lattice dynamics
We review the theory of lattice dynamics, starting from a simple model with two atoms in the unit cell and generalising to the standard formalism used by the scientific community today. The key component of the theory is the force between atoms, and we discuss how this can be computed from empirical or quantum mechanical models. The basic model is developed to link the amplitudes of vibrations ...
متن کاملNotes for Introduction to Lattice theory
This is a note for my talk Introduction to Lattice Theory. I have a talk in Math DUG about this topic. In that talk I managed to introduce the section 2,3 and 4.
متن کاملIntroduction to Model theory
These notes aim at giving the basic definitions and results from model theory. My intention in writing them, is that they should provide the reader with many examples, even with some proofs, and contain most of the definitions. Differences in vocabulary can be quite an obstacle to mutual understanding, and having the terminology written up somewhere should prove helpful. An index is included at...
