Introduction of novel characteristic time quantities to describe chemical reactors
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Mean Residence Time is a quantity which used very often to characterise chemical reactors. This can be calculated using the Distribution of specific, continuous reactor and assuming closed-closed boundary conditions. Many reactors in industry though, are discontinuous ones direct application these methods general not possible. work presents new distribution, Local Distribution, observes each position specific reactor. Furthermore, two new, local quantities, Dead Time, introduced, applied as characteristic times evaluate internal behaviour for processes such fermentations.

Time-Step Volume-Preserving Control of Chemical Reactors
We present a general control and optimization strategy based on time-step state space volume control. This is performed by maintaining the divergence of the system close to zero. The on-line implementation is shown for batch chemical reactors and the simulated results are compared with a traditional control scheme.
متن کاملOptimality approaches to describe characteristic fluvial patterns on landscapes.
Mother Nature has left amazingly regular geomorphic patterns on the Earth's surface. These patterns are often explained as having arisen as a result of some optimal behaviour of natural processes. However, there is little agreement on what is being optimized. As a result, a number of alternatives have been proposed, often with little a priori justification with the argument that successful pred...

15 صفحه اولMethods of Data Analysis Introduction to information theoretic quantities
Joint distributions provide a full mathematical account of dependencies between the system’s degrees of freedom. Up to now, we focused on probabilistic models as a step towards formalizing the inference of parameters given the data, often using examples where the data is reasonably simple; the non-trivial nature of the problem emerged from how parameters mapped to observations. Conversely, the ...
متن کاملChapter 2 : Introduction to Dynamics Basic Quantities from Earthquake Records
Basic Quantities from Earthquake Records Earthquakes are complex, dynamic events. In order to describe and work with them, a vocabulary of terms is necessary. Terms describing the intensity or magnitude of an earthquake give the engineer a quick estimate of the degree of shaking and damage one would expect. Other values reflect the time history of the earthquake such as acceleration, velocity, ...
