Intestinal parasites in ruminants from Gabtoli cattle market and Keraniganj, Dhaka

The present study was designed to determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites in ruminants. A total 124 fecal samples from ruminants (92 large – cattle, buffalo and 32 small ruminants- goat sheep) were collected Gabtoli cattle market Keraniganj, Dhaka May September 2017. Formol ether concentration technique used process samples. Among ruminants, maximum shown by Entamoeba sp. among protozoan (46.43%; CPG, 16.2±4.5) Keraniganj (44.44%; 10.1±1.5) respectively. Fasciola showed uppermost (35.71%; EPG 173.6±61) while, Dicrocoelium (27.78%; 6.4±2) trematodes infesting Dipylidium 5.5±2.5) Taenia EPG, 13.1±1.5) high market, whereas, most prevalent cestode Moniezia (38.9%; 9±1). In both Ascaris highest (42.86%; 36.3±12 38.9%; 12.1±1, respectively) presented Balantidium (25%; 32.5±9.5) 30±1.5), (37.5%; 22.5±9.5), 12.5±1) (43.75%; 20±2), respectively, for protozoans, trematodes, cestodes nematodes.
